Danny Strickland lives in Orlando, Florida with his wife, Cookie.  Married March 19, 1976, Danny and Cookie have three children and seven grandchildren, all living in Orlando.  Danny loves spending time with his family.  To his grandchildren, he is "Papa."  He enjoys traveling with Cookie, playing racquetball, basketball, swimming, flying, and most things outdoors.  

Danny has been in the ministry for over 49 years, serving as a senior pastor for 39 years.                      

He is now using those years of experience to invest in the lives of pastors locally, across the United States and in several nations around the world. He is also passionate about reaching students, the next generation leaders.  

Danny is the Lead Pastor at Dover Shores Baptist Shores in Orlando.  He is also on the Research Team for First Baptist Church of Orlando, specifically working with Senior Pastor, David Uth. 

Danny began ministry at the age of 20 when he became an Intern Minister at First Baptist Church of Orlando. Upon graduation from the University of Central Florida in 1977, Danny later received a Masters of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1981.  After graduating from seminary, Danny and Cookie moved back to Orlando. From 1981 to 2016, they began two churches with less than 20 people and saw both of them experience very positive growth.

Danny's greatest desire is to see people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. One of his great passions is to teach and train pastors in places where they have not been able to receive formal training. He has done this numerous times, particularly throughout India and Kenya.   

Another one of Danny's passions is to reach and teach what he calls the next generation leaders. He has done this mainly by sponsoring and leading youth camps for students for over 28 years.   Gifted at speaking to students, Danny has seen hundreds of teenagers accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.  Many of those are now adults, faithfully serving in their local churches, and several are now serving as pastors.   One of the key pastors he works with, a Romanian Pastor named Dani Hardut, accepted Christ when he was 16 years old at one of the camps where Danny preached.  Dani now leads multiple churches throughout the region of Romania known as Oltenia and has brought hundreds of youth the past few years to the camps that Danny Strickland and his teams sponsor.  Another pastor in Romania, Stefan Illutan, also received Christ as a teenage boy.  

His life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6    

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight."
